Fireflies Light My Way
In addition to witnessing through immersion the change of seasons experienced in the Northeastern U.S., one of the things that unexpectedly delighted me was the arrival of the fireflies as day gives way to evening.
I saw a field of flickering fireflies again for the first time last week, after having lived in the West for two decades, and was transported instantly to the mystical, magical realms that were so familiar, so near, when I was a child.
There is a children's book called Fireflies, Fireflies Light My Way, featuring the exquisite artwork of Linda Messier.
"Fireflies Light My Way" evokes perfectly the magic of fireflies, if we allow them to be our guides. Little lanterns flickering in the darkness, reminding us of the magic in the Unseen realms and the joy that the soul feels in response to Light.
Blessings,
Jamie

ho beautiful and sweet! I loved to catch them in a jar to light the way!
I never realized that fireflies aren't native to the west too. That's so sad.
They are beautiful and sweet! It's true. Magical. We also used to call them “Lightning Bugs”. There may be some places in the West that see fireflies, but none of the places I lived on the California coast had them. :(
Incredible Artwork Jamie! Thank you! We have fire flies and they fly so smoothly and gently. It really is amazing to watch them float and fly at the same time. It is the firefly nature meditation to watch them.
Deep Bow!

beautiful, just beautiful! “followed” Ben here, and am glad I did. hugs
Thanks, all. I'm glad to share the firefly magic. They're such wonderful teachers, as are so many of our friends from Nature's clan. Last night I watched as the day slowly turned to evening, as the fireflies rose. A symphony of little Lights reminding us of our Divine Light within.
Joyful Blessings,
Jamie
